Pennsylvania takes another title in the Middle School division 2016 NHSCA Championships.

The 27th Annual NHSCA National Wrestling Championships were held April 1-3, 2016 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  A total of 3,501 wrestlers participated in the momentous event.  The Middle School division showcased 448 wrestlers from 34 states from Alaska to Florida, California to Virginia and in between.


Pennsylvania claimed another team title with a total of 226.5 in the Middle School division. Ohio finished in second place with 208.5 points. Virginia finished third with 202.5 points.


80 pound champion Nick Fea of New York had an impressive route to the finals finishing it off with a fall is 1:01 over Jordan Titus of New York. Fea showcased his talents with 3 falls and 2 decisions. He was named the 2016 Middle School Most Outstanding Wrestler.


At 95 pounds, Zachary Redding of Manorville, New York was looking for redemption after his loss in last year’s finals with a victory and in 2016; Redding was victorious with an overtime takedown to win 3-1 over Ian Oswalt of Pennsylvania.


The 112 weight class boasted the largest bracket in the division with Patrick Noonan of Pennsylvania took the title with a 5-3 decision in the finals over Chase Yost of Kentucky.


The 165 pound champion Gage Garcia of Pennsylvania walked through the tournament with 4 falls in 4:28 minutes, including a 2:36 pin in the finals over Nick Crawford of Ohio. Garcia was also awarded the most falls in the least amount of time honors.


Michael Leibl of New York pinned his way through the tournament at 230 pounds with a :56 fall over Jakob Ryan on Pennsylvania who pinned his way to the finals.
