BRACKETS

 

The NHSCA has waived the necessity to qualify for this event, it is open to any/all wrestlers that wish to compete.  The event will be conducted side-by-side with the High School National event. The Middle School wrestlers will be competing in the same arena with all the high school studs competing in the High School Nationals! 

 

This as a showcase of the future high school wrestling superstars and will afford them the opportunity to be exposed to the very highest level of high school wrestling in the same arena.  Following the completion of the Middle School event, the 28th Annual Senior Nationals will be wrestled. All participants in the Middle School Nationals will receive free admission to the High School Nationals!

 

For over 25 years, Olympic and NCAA Champions such as Cael Sanderson, Jordan Burroughs, Jake Varner, Brent Metcalf, Kyle Dake, Jordan Oliver, and J'den Cox have competed at the NHSCA High School Nationals.  Now, you have a shot at something truly special, to be a part of history -just as they did when the Senior Nationals were held in the early years!  Don't miss your chance to be part of the early classes of National Middle School Wrestling Individual Champions!

 

PLEASE NOTE: Wrestlers and coaches do not need to purchase event tickets.  Coaches must be a member of the NHSCA and purchase a Coach Event Pass. If you plan on coaching at only the Middle School Nationals, you can purchase the Middle School Coach Event Pass - this pass will only get you into the competition on Sunday.

REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE TUESDAY, MARCH 21st at 11:59pm.

 

 

 

Eligibility
Wrestler must be enrolled in grades 6th, 7th or 8th.

 

Please Note: 8th graders are ONLY eligible for the Middle School Nationals.

 

If you attempt to participate in Freshman Nationals,you will be disqualified on the spot and will not be able to compete in any division at the 2018 High School Nationals.

 

 

Entry Fee - $60

Weight Classes

75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 112, 119, 127, 135, 142, 154, 165, 180, 230

There will be a 3-pound weight allowance. i.e. 127+3=130

There is no penalty for changing weight classes.  You can change right on the scale with no fee!

 

Skin Issues

If your wrestle has any skin issues, please print this form for your doctor. Form must be filled out by doctor within 7 days of the start of competition at NHSCA Nationals and brought to weigh-ins.

Note: We still reserve the right to override form if our head trainer/doctor sees any "active" skin issues.

 

Matches

All championship bracket Middle School championship matches will be 1.5-1.5-1.5 minute periods. 
There will be full double-elimination consolation brackets.

 

Awards

One National Middle School School Champion will be declared in each weight class. 

 

The top eight place finishers in each weight class will receive awards as well as official recognition as members of NHSCA's Future Champions Team.  

 

An outstanding wrestler award as well as the most falls in the least time award will be given at the conclusion of the finals.

 

State Team Awards

Each competitor will have the opportunity to score points for their state. The top three states will receive team awards and the winning state will take home the National Championship Cup to display at their State Championships.

 

Please Note:  All wrestlers competing in the Middle School Division will receive free admission to the 28th Annual National Wrestling Championship.  Wrestlers need to keep on their competition wristband to gain admission throughout the event.
