This event is the most prestigious
high school event, in any sport, throughout the country. The 2014 National High
School Championships culminated with a total of 3,368.The numbers for the 2014
Freshman Division: 603 Entries; 39 State Champions and 173 State Place
A springboard to greatness... NHSCA National Championship Events have seen hundreds of its
participants enjoy illustrious college careers. Many NCAA champions and
All-Americans and USA Olympians have competed in NHSCA National Championship
Events when they were in high school. On average NHSCA High School Nationals
alumni make an average of 15 of the 20 NCAA Division I National Wrestling
Championship finals appearances each year. On average, 7 of the 10 NHSCA participants
claim NCAA titles. 55 of the 80 2014 NCAA All Americans competed here when they
were high school career. The 2014 High School Freshman Nationals produced some
unbelievable talent that is going to be a threat for years to come on the

High School Nationals Wrestling Championship affords you the very best
competition in the country and best chance to be noticed by college coaches.
This is a showdown where the best meet the best. It will test your mental and physical
toughness as a wrestler. This is a tremendous opportunity for the nation's top
ranked wrestlers to collide with the "small school" state runner-up;
put the rankings aside and prove that they are the top Freshman wrestler in the
country in their weight class. The top 8 place finishers in each weight class
will officially be declared High School Freshman All-Americans and will also be
recognized at the National High School Sports Hall of Fame Museum. Truly a
brilliant wrestling tradition... Don't miss your chance to be a part of it. One
High School Freshman Champion will be crowned in each weight class. The top
eight place finishers in each weight class are officially declared High School
Freshman All-Americans and will receive a statue as well as 3 All-American certificates,
one for you, one for your high school trophy case and one for your high school
A showcase for college recruiting...
Every college wrestling coach in the
country has been invited to attend this event. Past events have served as
tremendous showcases of recruiting for the college coach. Last year, over 200
college and university wrestling coaches attended the event. The list of
schools included the top 25 Division I wrestling programs in the country. The
NHSCA also includes free clinics throughout the event by the best of the best.
There have been thousands of scholarships over the past 20 years awarded to
individuals because of their performance at this event. Please do not
confuse... The 26th Annual NHSCA National High School Wrestling Championships, Freshman
division, with any other event. All mats will also be webcast live from

Eligibility- 9th grade
Wrestler must be enrolled in high school with Freshman eligibility. There are NO exceptions!
Please Note: If you are NOT enrolled in 9th grade, you will be disqualified on the spot and will not be able to compete the 2016 High School Nationals.
All wrestlers are asked to bring a copy of their most recent report card or birth certificate to registration/weigh ins.

Federation weights will be in place:
106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, 285
There will be one weigh-in for the entire event with a 3-pound weight allowance.
i.e. 106 weight class will be 109 pounds
Wrestlers may compete at:
- Tthe weight class at which you entered your State's 2014-15 Individual or Dual Meet Championships
- A higher weight class
- As low as your "Minimum Weight Class" according to the NWCA Optimal Weight Calculator, verified by a hard copy of your schools Alpha Master Report.
- If your state does NOT use the OPC, then you are required to wrestle no lower than the weight you wrestled at your Individual State or Dual Meet Championships.
For example: If your optimum weight calculator allows you to compete at 121.8, you are only eligible for the 126 lb weight class NOT 120. Your optimum weight calculator must allow you to compete at the "scratch" weight class. However, you can enter the same weight or any weight class higher.
There is no penalty for changing weight classes. You can either change on site or email Mattie at Potter@Nhsca.com by midnight on March 23, 2015.

If your wrestle has any skin issues, please print this form for your doctor. Form must be filled out by doctor within 7 days of the start of competition at NHSCA Nationals and brought to weigh-ins.
Note: We still reserve the right to override form if our head trainer/doctor sees any "active" skin issues.
All matches will be 2- 2- 2 in the championship bracket. Consolation matches will be 1-1.5-1.5. There will be full wrestle backs for all consolation matches. Please Note: All American rounds will revert back to 2-2-2 matches.
The top eight place finishers in each weight class will receive awards as well as official recognition as High School Freshman All-Americans.
Upon achieving all-American status, you will receive 3 certificates:
- One certificate is for you
- One for your school
- One for your coach
All-American's will also be recognized at the National High School Hall of Fame Museum, currently under construction in Easton, PA.

There is no penalty to change your weight. Changes made by midnight Monday, March 23rd will be completed. All other weight changes will occur at the scales.

To coach at the 26th Annual NHSCA High School Nationals – Fr, So, Jr, Sr divisions, you must:
1. Be a current member of the NHSCA - Click here to join today! – Membership is $30.

2. Purchase an All Event Coach Pass - Click here! – All Event Coach Pass is $70.
- The All Event Coach Pass is your "ticket" into the event.
- You do not need to purchase an admissions ticket.
- In addition the NHSCA membership benefits, the All Event Coach pass to the High School Nationals includes a 1-year subscription to WIN magazine.

If you purchase both your NHSCA membership and the All Event Coach Pass online, you will check-in in the "Express Line” at the event. Your check-in time at the event will be substantially quicker. Print your receipts and make it even quicker!
This All Event Pass will allow you to coach at the 26th Annual High School Nationals and the 16th Annual National Duals May 22-25, 2015 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

There will be no discounted 3 day passes sold onsite. 3 day passes are available online until Tuesday, March 24th.

We would like to offer free admission to Active Military personnel with proper ID. Please come to the NHSCA table located in the main lobby.
All media will receive the following:
- Free entry into the event -- You will need to show your credentials to receive your entry.
- Please go to the NHSCA table located in the lobby of the VBCC when you arrive.
- Seating at head table with power source
- Event Program
What is the closes airport?
The closest airport is Norfolk. It is approximate 18 miles from the venue.
Do I have to wear a school singlet?
No! You can wear any singlet of your choosing. School singlets are fine provided your school does not have an issue.
Do I have to wear headgear?
No! Headgear is not required but recommended for your safety.
Do I need to be clean shaven for the tournament?
Facial hair must meet normal grooming standards; clean-shaven with sideburns no lower than the earlobes. If hair is longer than allowed by rule then a hair cover must be worn to satisfy the hair rule. If a hair cover is worn then a headgear is mandatory.
If I purchase a T-Shirt, will it be shipped to me?
No! You will pick up your t-shirt on site during the event from the World Wide Sports Supply T-Shirt Stand.
If I purchase an Event Ticket, will it be shipped to me?
No! You will pick up your ticket on site at the VBCC Will Call Window.
Can I bring a cooler into the tournament?
This is the discretion of the VBCC, not the NHSCA. Please contact the VBCC directly!
Will there be a mat open to workout on Thursday?
Yes, mat space will be available during the weigh in times only!
Will there be a check scale available on Thursday?
Yes, a check scale will be available at the VBCC.
Does a coach have to check in Thursday?
No, coaches can check in anytime throughout the duration of the event to pick up or purchase an All Events Coach Pass.
